Specific kinds of biomass include animal manures, crop residues, woody energy crops, algae, agro-food wastes, fats, slaughter waste, and food waste. Biomass is the only renewable energy source that can be used to make liquid transportation fuels such as gasoline, jet, and diesel fuel\u2014in the near term.
